The lovely Ninas (there are two of them) took us to a gypsy market outside of belgrade. It was so much fun. They basically all live in this neighborhood and collect what amounts to trash all week and sell it on the street on Sundays. There were some really great things. I bought a Serbian comic book from the Eighties, a weird Russian notebook and some material for my project here.
Your photos of the "gypsy" market bring back many memories of the mercado baratillo in Guadalajara, Mex. Americans living there called it the "thieves market" where you could hope to find goods which had been stolen during the week. It was fascinating!
